Version of 4 October 2026
Italian Machinery Association supplies metalworking machinery from Italian and European manufacturers to customers in the EU, the Baltic States, Switzerland, Central Asia and the Caucasus. This page explains what the machine price includes, how delivery is organised and how the supply of warranty spare parts is agreed. Delivery terms follow Incoterms® 2020.
1. What the price includes
Unless the quotation states otherwise, prices on the website and in our quotations are FCA manufacturer’s plant (Free Carrier). This means that:
- the machine is handed over to the carrier appointed by the buyer at the manufacturer’s plant;
- the price includes standard packing, loading onto the vehicle at the plant and export customs clearance (where required);
- the price does not include transport, cargo insurance, import customs clearance, duties and taxes of the destination country, unloading, rigging, installation or commissioning;
- the risk of loss of or damage to the machine passes to the buyer once it has been loaded onto the carrier’s vehicle at the plant.
The buyer may collect the machine with their own carrier or ask us to arrange delivery.
2. Delivery to the customer’s plant: DAP or DDP
When the supply contract is agreed, the delivery term can be changed to delivery to the customer’s site:
- DAP customer’s plant (Delivered at Place) — we arrange and pay for transport to your premises. Import customs clearance, duties, VAT and unloading are the buyer’s responsibility.
- DDP customer’s plant (Delivered Duty Paid) — in addition to DAP, we also handle import customs clearance, duties and taxes. Not available in every country; this is confirmed when the contract is prepared.
The final delivery term, delivery cost and lead times are set out in the supply contract, which takes precedence over this page.
| Responsibility | FCA manufacturer’s plant | DAP customer’s plant | DDP customer’s plant |
|---|---|---|---|
| Packing and loading at the plant | Seller | Seller | Seller |
| Export clearance | Seller | Seller | Seller |
| Transport to the customer’s plant | Buyer | Seller | Seller |

| Transfer of risk | After loading at the manufacturer’s plant | On arrival at the customer’s plant | On arrival at the customer’s plant |
3. Delivery cost and lead times
The delivery cost is calculated individually for each shipment. It depends on the dimensions and weight of the machine, the type of packing, the route and mode of transport (road, sea, rail or multimodal), whether oversized transport is needed, and insurance. We prepare the delivery estimate together with the quotation or on separate request.
The time until the machine is ready for shipment is stated in the quotation and in the contract. Transit time depends on the route and is agreed when the carrier is chosen. We notify you in advance when the machine is ready and when it has been dispatched.
4. Packing and insurance
Machines are shipped in the manufacturer’s packing suitable for the chosen mode of transport. Reinforced packing is available on request: wooden crates, seaworthy packing and corrosion protection (VCI). If we arrange the delivery, the cargo can be insured for its full value; insurance terms are set out in the contract.
5. Documents
The machine is accompanied by a commercial invoice, a packing list, a transport document (CMR, bill of lading or rail waybill), the CE declaration of conformity and the manufacturer’s technical documentation. A certificate of origin and other documents required by customs in the destination country are provided by agreement.
6. Receiving the goods
On receipt, check the number of packages and the condition of the packing in the driver’s presence. If there is visible damage, note it on the transport document, photograph the cargo and packing and notify us immediately at ivan@italianmachines.eu. Do not install or switch on a machine with obvious transport damage before agreeing with us — this is important for the insurance claim.
7. Warranty spare parts
Terms for the supply of warranty spare parts are agreed in the machine supply contract. The contract specifies:
- the delivery term for spare parts and who pays for their transport;
- delivery times after the warranty claim has been confirmed;
- how spare parts are cleared through customs;
- whether replaced parts must be returned to the manufacturer and at whose expense.
Non-warranty spare parts and consumables are supplied under a separate quotation.
